Questions

What visitors need to know before onboarding.

Keep public guidance concise, then route each visitor to the buyer, brand, rep, or platform path that matches their role.

Is Apparel Market live yet?

Yes. Apparel Market is live and open to verified brands and buyers. The founding cohort programs add hands-on onboarding, preferred terms, and launch visibility while the cohorts fill.

Do brands need to use Uphance?

No. Apparel Market is open to all qualified brands. Brands running Uphance get the deepest live-operations connection — inventory, orders, and fulfillment sync automatically.

Will brands' buyer lists be exposed?

No. Referral and buyer relationship data should be handled carefully and is not exposed to other brands without buyer consent.

Why do buyers need to be verified?

Verification keeps early previews useful for brands and gives buyers a more curated experience based on real category demand.

Are reps and showrooms part of the marketplace?

Yes. Reps and showrooms get a first-class, commission-aware workspace — buyer books, attribution, territories, and appointment briefs — through the Founding Showroom Partners program.

What happens after applying?

You will be asked for a short profile, scored for fit, routed into the correct review workflow, and considered for early previews or follow-up interviews.

How does verification work, and how long does it take?

Verification is a human review of business evidence — company identity, website, categories, and ship-to coverage. Verification assist summarizes the evidence with reason codes so reviews move quickly, but a person makes every decision. You can track your status in your workspace, and requested-change notes tell you exactly what is missing.

How long does catalog import take, and what sources are supported?

Magic catalog import reads line sheet PDFs, CSVs, Shopify catalogs, JOOR and NuORDER exports, and even product photos. It builds structured styles, variants, and prices in minutes and shows a field-level diff — nothing publishes until you approve it.

How do payments and terms work?

Approved orders move into a checkout-ready packet with frozen commercial terms — payment, shipping, MOQ, and currency. Invoicing and payment are coordinated with marketplace operations at handoff, and negotiated terms carry on the order rather than resetting per transaction.

What does the AI do with my brand data?

AI features work on your own catalog and operational data to make suggestions for you — import diffs, listing enrichment, readiness scoring. Every output cites its evidence and waits for human approval. Your commercial data is never exposed to other brands, and aggregate intelligence products use anonymized, privacy-thresholded data only.

What is public and what is gated?

Public visitors see brand story, categories, ship-to coverage, and buyer-safe product previews. Wholesale pricing, SKU matrices, line sheets, and commercial terms are gated — visible only to verified buyers with approved access.

Still deciding?

Use the public role paths before starting a workspace.

Buyers, brands, reps, and platform operators each need a different first step. The public site should make that choice obvious before anyone reaches gated product surfaces.

FAQAnswers stay public; account work stays gated.
